The time has come for your routine dental appointment. These appointments should be scheduled at least twice a year. This allows Dr. Calvin L. Garland and our dental team to work with you to maintain and improve your dental health.
Dental Cleaning
At the start of your appointment, our hygienist will clean the plaque and tartar from each of your teeth thoroughly. Then, your teeth will be flossed and polished.
Dental Exam
At this point, our dentist in Sacramento, California, will examine your teeth, gums and mouth thoroughly for signs of decay, gum disease and other issues and potential issues. The goal is for Dr. Garland to diagnose any dental issues as early as possible so that they can be treated quickly. If any issues were spotted, we will explain your treatment options to you. Of course, you have the final say in your dental treatment plan.
X-Rays
We will decide whether to take your dental X-rays based on factors such as your age, risk of cavities and dental health history. Dental X-rays are very helpful for locating decay and other issues that are between the teeth or in other areas that make them hard to spot with the naked eye.
